The SOIKY Chapter will host the 2017 Mid-America Regional Reunion at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center North, 1950 Newton Pike, Lexington, Ky.  The Lexington area is located in the “Bluegrass Region” of Kentucky.  The hotel is conveniently located off Interstate 75 in North Lexington.  The hotel is three miles from Downtown Lexington. Amenities include Free Wi-Fi, Sauna, Indoor Whirlpool/Hot Tub, Indoor Heated Pool, Fitness Center, Basketball, Ping pong/Table Tennis, Volleyball, Game Room, Popcorn Machine, Picnic Area, and Free Parking for Auto/Buses/RV’s.  The hotel offers a full service restaurant and complimentary airport shuttle service to and from Lexington Bluegrass Airport.  A FREE Full Breakfast is included.  The Special NARPI Group Rate is $115 per night plus taxes. Sunday, June 4:  Registration in the hotel lobby will open at 3:00 pm and the hospitality room will open from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm.

Monday, June: 5:  We will leave the hotel by motor coach at 9:00 AM and have a brief tour of Lexington and then continue on to the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY for a tour and tasting. In Kentucky, buffalo carved a pathway that was followed by America’s early pioneers. On the spot where the buffalo migration route crossed the Kentucky River, the distillery has been making bourbon whiskey for over 200 years. One of America's oldest continuously operating distillery.

We will depart the distillery at 12:00 PM for the Kentucky Horse Park. We will be at the Horse Park from 12:30 pm until 4:45 pm. The Kentucky Horse Park is dedicated to man's relationship with the horse and is unlike any other park in the world -- a showcase of museums, galleries, theaters, and working farm exhibits. The park is home to about 115 horses, representing more than three dozen different breeds grazing on its 1,200 acres of lush pastures. Here we will view the various exhibits and exhibitions and maybe even ride on a horse-drawn trolley. Lunch will be on your own at the Horse Park Café. We will return to the hotel at about 4:45 pm.

Tuesday, June 6: We will leave the hotel by motor coach at 9:00 AM for an 18 mile scenic ride to Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, located in Harrodsburg, KY along the Kentucky River. It is a landmark destination that shares 3,000 acres of discovery in the spirit of the Kentucky Shakers. Home of the third largest Shaker community in the United States between 1805 and 1910, the vibrant site offers experiences designed to ignite curiosity, expand imaginations and inspire generations. During a 105 year span, the Pleasant Hills Shakers constructed more than 260 structures on the property. Today, there are 34 surviving buildings, most located along the mile-long gravel turnpike. A lunch is planned at the village along with a cruise on the Dixie Belle Riverboat, an authentic stern-wheeler on the Kentucky River.

We will return to the hotel at about 4:00 PM. The Mid-America Region annual meeting and the Executive Board meeting will be held upon our return.

The evening activities will start at 6:00 PM beginning with a hospitality reception and cash bar. The banquet will begin at 7:00 PM.
